2019 Annual Picnic - Meet-Me-There!

Invitation to Annual Picnic

We invite all to this year's Meet-Me-There Picnic. Details are below:

Date: Monday 1st. July 2019 - Canada Day Republic Day

Venue: Crecent Drive Park (See directions/map below)

Time: 10:00am - 10:00pm (Till the sun goes down!)

Tentative Program:
         10:00am - 11:00am Protocol Activities
         11:00am - 6:00pm Children and Family Activities
         12:00pm - 1:00pm Barbecue (Fish & Kebab)
          1:00pm - 2:00pm Lunch
          2:00pm - 8:00pm Games (Ampe, Oware, Tag of War, etc)
          3:00pm - 3:30pm Cutting of Canada/Ghana Day Cake
          3:30pm - 4:00pm Group Photograph
          4:00pm - 6:00pm Cultural Music and Dance
          6:00pm - 7:00pm Barbecue (Hot Dogs)
          8:00pm - 9:00pm Fireworks
          9:00pm - 10:00pm Ananse Stories

Activities: There will be lots of activities including but not limited to the following:

Dame (20 Draft, 10 Draft, 8 Draft, 3 Draft)		Charles Kele

Babecue - Chinchinga, Hot dogs, drum sticks, salad, kenkey and fish etc. etc. This is a pot-luck style picnic. Families and individuals are expected to bring snacks, food or drinks to share. Early comers get a surprise prize. Best dressed for the occasion also gets a prize!

Directions to Cresent Drive Park

The Park is off Pembina Highway, between Bishop Grandin Blvd and McGillvray Blvd.

Driving From the South (and West)

1. Get onto Pembina Highway
2. Turn Right onto Crescent Drive
3. You should find the Park when you see a lot of green space

Driving From the North (and East)

1. Get onto Pembina Highway
2. Turn Left onto Crescent Drive
3. You should find the Park when you see a lot of green space

Using the Bus (Winnipeg Transit)

There are several buses that can get you close to Crescent Drive Park.
The main Bus Routes are 60 & 160. See the Winnipeg Transit link below:

1. Take one of the Bus routes plying Pembina Highway
2. Get down at the intersection: Pembina Highway & Crescent Drive
3. Walk East on Crescent Drive for about 15 mins to the Park
4. You can also call Anderson (204-887-6163) for a pickup once you get off the bus at the intersection: Pembina Highway & Crescent Drive
